CEDAR-STRIP CANOE BUILDING CLASS

Join in this fun and educational project by the ARC to build a cedar-strip canoe that will be raffled in the fall to raise money for the Center. Interested volunteers have begun working on this years canoe and meet each Tuesday at 7 p.m., in the upstairs of the Center. Theyll work until the project is finished in May. The end product will be a beautiful, 16-foot cedar-strip, fiberglassed canoe.

You need only show up to help in this extraordinary project, but feel free to contact Doug Nagel at 989-275-7266 to find out more.

Raffle tickets for the canoe will be available all summer at the AuSable River Center or at Fifth Street Market in downtown Roscommon; from any ARC committee member; or by mailing orders to the ARC, PO Box 363, Roscommon, MI 48653. Tickets are $5 each; three for $10; or seven for $20. The drawing will take place during the annual Michigan Firemens Memorial Festival in September, which is hosted at the Roscommon County Fairgrounds in Roscommon.
